Council of Empowered Ladies International
CELI is a NGO with the aim of promoting female empowerment for women around the world.
When we started our humanitarian activities, seeking female empowerment, we witnessed that the cause of female empowerment was being confused with feminism and that we would have to definitively dissociate this mistaken image.
We bring together well-positioned women in all areas of work and human development. And we created the Council Empowered Ladys International, which is popularly known worldwide as CELI.
With our dynamics, today we have an extremely representative network of members, inserted in the dynamics of implementing projects focused on Macroeconomics.
We understand that female empowerment is extremely important. That is born in the perception of women’s own rights so that they know their powers and limits and for that we have a structure of awareness and learning. With lawyers, psychologists and a whole protection network for our Ladys in each country. But objectively, how can we bring empowerment to our members who are called CELI Ladys?
Therefore, it was necessary to work with the creation of companies, factories, hotels, universities and to develop several actions to generate jobs and a better quality of life for our members. Also tutoring and training one, so that later it is fully capable of teaching others. Forming a truly empowering network. We also encourage microfinance projects, such as handicraft cooperatives, restaurants, technical schools, weaving and products that have been strategically transmitted with the CELI brand, so that profitability becomes income for CELI in all the countries we have representation.
We are currently represented in 46 countries and continue to grow daily.
Women’s empowerment is one of the most persistent social challenges and opportunities. Gender inequalities manifest themselves in countless ways in every country and community across the globe. A concerted effort is needed to ensure that future generations of women aren’t burdened by the same barriers to maximizing their potential.
Investing in women’s empowerment is a strategic investment for CELI. Women play a critical role across the whole social economic development value chain, with particular responsibility for work that is essential to ensuring sustainable production and quality of output. This essential input, however, often goes unrecognized. As such, women’s empowerment is a core part of our CELI Life programs.
CELI Women are catalysts of change and our activities aim to change social norms and attitudes, thus enabling women to gain greater access to and control over resources – household resources, farming resources and those for wider social economic activities – and strengthening their capability to lead their communities. Creating this systemic change will result in positive returns for women, their families, and their communities. Structures and processes put in place by CELI have enhanced opportunities for women to participate, have their voices heard and to exercise their rights to participate in economic development.

“Women’s Empowerment is intertwined with respect to human rights BUT achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls is the unfinished business of our time and the greatest rights change of our time”
